Islam in America: New Dimensions in Activism, Pluralism and Thought
NPF's Dialogue Program on Religion & Society wraps up its fifth exchange delegation to the United States. Participants from Yeman, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates have spent the past fourteen days in meetings and experiential workshops with inter-religious groups, social service organizations, and representatives from the U.S. Department of State.
This program in citizen partnership, funded through the Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs at the U.S. Department of State, is designed to connect grassroots organizers to their colleagues around the world, and provide them with a forum for exchange around issues that are oftentimes seen as taboo or contentious. Cross-cultural dialogue and partnership programs have consistently been proven to reduce the risk of inter-group conflict within societies and across borders. These exchanges are particularly unique because they create lasting relationships that empower emerging leaders with knowledge and skills, which strengthen civic institutions in the US and abroad.
More information on this delegation and future exchanges coming soon.
