Peacebuilder Tours

As part of our ongoing evaluation of the causes and prevention of conflict, the National Peace Foundation has partnered with Interfaith Peace Builders to lead interfaith delegations to Israel/Palestine. These journeys provide eyewitness experience of a region that has been mired in war and violence for years. Given the extent to which the United States is involved in this conflict, many people rarely have the opportunity for unbiased education and advocacy on relevant issues.

These visits foster a network of informed and active individuals who understand the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the United States' political, military, and economic role. The goal is to empower delegates to educate themselves, their local communities, and the media as a counter-point to ill-informed, inaccurate or unfair stereotypes. Our hope is that informed citizens can be better advocates for a more balanced and just US foreign policy that:

  • actively promotes civil, political, and human rights.

  • affirms political self-determination for Palestinians and Israelis.

  • fosters economic and environmental sustainability in the region.

  • supports a diplomatic resolution to the conflict rather than one imposed by force of arms.

These delegations emphasize listening to those immersed in the reality of the conflict and advancing the work of Israelis and Palestinians committed to nonviolent struggle and peace with justice.
